This painting was done Oil on Canvas. It was inspired by the Belgium Bike Races held in the spring of each year. The races are referred to as the Spring Classics, bike racing is a very popular sport in Belgium and Europe. This Oil Painting depicts the spring season with newly green grass and trees without leaves, the Arden Forest is the playingfield of the Belgium Bike Races.

It's very nice; really a bit like Van Gogh! But with bikes instead of sunflowers this time ;)

Thank you so much for your comment!!!@#$#@!~ I am new to D Art and find it interesting that someone from Belgium has seen bike race. I would love to have more people interested in Bike Racing see it and Belgium would be a great start...Your sketching is fantastic.

Why thank you very much! I'm not really a huge bike race fan, but this year the Tour de France came to belgium, just ten minutes away from where I live, so I went to see the racers and the trophy's getting handed out, it was pretty cool. Even the mayor and king were there, though I didn't catch any of the racers flowers :(

Haha LOL!! Yeah, I thought so too, but this huge guy in front of me caught them instead :( well, maybe the found him too beautiful, but that's another story! It was fun indeed :)
